Stephen Houmes, MD
Dr. Stephen Houmes, a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician, graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, in 2014. Following that, he completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, in 2017. Dr. Houmes holds the distinction of being a Faculty member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (FAAEM) and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). Dr. Houmes is also certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Houmes works to ensure an emergency program that consistently offers the latest evidence-based practices, expertise, and excellence in emergency services, particularly in critical access and rural settings. “The first few hours of care can be the most important with regard to patient outcomes,” emphasizes Dr. Houmes. “I have a special interest in emergency care quality improvement, advanced airway management, bedside ultrasound, and sports medicine injury treatment and prevention.”
During his leisure moments, Dr. Houmes enjoys mountain biking, skiing, engaging in technical trail and mountain running, and sharing quality time with his family.
