James Pohl, MD, FCCP
Dr. James Pohl, MD, FCCP is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Pohl graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at Boston City Hospital and completed a Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Virginia Medical School. He’s also a Fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians.
As a pulmonologist, he provides care for people suffering from respiratory problems such as emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis and sleep disorders. He works closely with his patients’ medical team which may include a cardiologist, family physician, neurologist and others.
“My philosophy toward diagnosis and treatment is to listen to the patient, ask and answer questions, and then listen some more,” he says. Dr. Pohl is proud of the fact that he has had a Medical Degree since 1975 and has accumulated experience in practice and still enjoys what he does everyday. He went into medicine because it intrigued him and still does.
He has had a cabin on Warm River since 1991 which is what familiarized him with the area and Teton Valley Health Care. He and his family enjoy their time out here by hunting, fishing and skiing.
